The Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed his commitment to national security following his appointment as Secretary I of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Musa expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the confidence reposed in him through the appointment.
He described the responsibility as a call to higher service, pledging to execute the strategic tasks of the position with diligence, administrative rigour and focus.
The minister, however, stressed that his constitutional responsibility to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protect the lives and property of citizens remained absolute.
“National security remains our highest imperative,” Musa said in a statement issued by his media aide, Leah Katung-Babatunde, on Sunday.
He assured Nigerians that ongoing military operations, strategic reforms and inter-agency collaborations across the defence sector would continue unabated.
“Our resolve to uphold the mandate of the Ministry of Defence, protect our people, and drive Mr President’s vision for a safe and prosperous Nigeria remains firm and unshakeable,” he said.
Musa also called on APC members and patriotic Nigerians to remain united behind the administration.
He expressed confidence that the APC would succeed at the 2027 polls while continuing to deliver effective governance and security nationwide.
